Buttock Augmentation

Buttock Augmentation

For patients who want to increase or re-shape their buttocks, and have not been able to do so with diet and exercise, a buttock augmentation is the best solution. A buttock augmentation or buttock lift will re-shape the buttocks and compensate for less volume in the area. Patients who want to increase their buttock size will be able to enjoy a more voluptuous shape. This process can be done either with injections of the patient’s own fat or with silicone implants.

The right candidate for buttock augmentation

The procedure can improve the natural curves for those patients who are not happy with their body shapes. It will add volume and increase to the roundness of the buttocks for patients who have small and flat buttocks. Even body-builders get buttock augmentation procedures to increase gluteal muscles that are in proportion with their bodies. The buttock augmentation procedure is made for those people seeking to get a fuller and curvier butt.

Implants vs. Fat Transfer

Most surgeons prefer to use the patient’s own fat deposits and transfer this to the buttock area to help reshape the butt. These injections have lower risks of infection and also present a more natural result. This procedure also allows the surgeon to create curves that are proportionate with the rest of the body. Implants are suggested for those people who do not have enough body fat that can be harvested, such as body-builders and patients who are naturally thin.

Buttock Augmentation with Fat Transfer (“Brazilian Butt Lift”)

A buttock augmentation with a fat transfer, known as a Brazil Butt Lift, is done in two steps. First the patient’s own fat is harvested from different parts of the body, like the back, waist, love handles and/or thighs through liposuction. This will contour the rest of the body and provide raw material for the buttock enhancement. The fat is then purified with a special process so that the best fat can be injected back into the body.

The second step, the fat that has been purified is added to the buttocks with injections numbering in the hundreds at different depths in the skin to create a more even augmentation. This method will allow the surgeon to create a more proportionate shape that will last a long time. More attention is paid to the upper buttocks so that the area looks young and youthful, as well as naturally lifted.

The procedure is named Brazilian Butt Lift after the country where it was developed.

Recovery

Patients should not lie on their back or sit on their buttocks for two to three weeks after either the fat transfer or silicone implant surgery. During this time, compression garments should be worn to minimize the swelling. Patients might experience pain, but that and the bruising will go away after a few weeks. The swelling will go away in six weeks. Patients can resume their normal routine after two weeks.

Side Effects

Like any other surgery, there are risks attached to this procedure. These can include infection, bleeding, reaction to the anesthesia, and damage to nerves or muscles. It is possible that one or both buttock implants may move after they have been placed and a repeat surgery may be required to reposition them.

Results

As long as the surgery is performed by an experienced surgeon, the procedure can provide patients with well-rounded curvier buttocks that will bring them confidence in their body. It is an extremely satisfying procedure that has long-lasting results.
