Chin Implants

Chin Implant

A normal nose can be made to look larger with a weak chin, while a very prominent chin can make a normal nose look smaller. Chin implants are used to make the jaw stronger and return balance to the face.

In the chin augmentation procedure, the surgeon will make a small incision in the mouth or under the chin. There are several advantages to making the incision in the mouth, which include no evident scars and a quicker healing time. After making the incision, the surgeon will place the implant over the bone and close the incision site. Side effects of this procedure can include bruising and swelling, but side effects will go away in five to seven days. Patients can usually go back to their normal routine in five days.

This procedure is usually done along with a facelift, rhinoplasty, or facial liposuction to help the patient get the best facial balance.
