What’s in Restylane and Perlane?

Both Restylane and Perlane consist of clear, man-made gels that are made from purified hyaluronic acid which is a natural sugar that is naturally present in our bodies. The Hyaluronic acid works in combination with collagen to maintain the skin’s natural condition and allow it to stay smooth and youthful. The hyaluronic acid that makes up Restylane and Perlane has been made so it can last longer, and by forming strong bonds with water molecules present in the skin, it prolongs its effects for six months or even more.

Where can Restylane and Perlane be applied?

Restylane and Perlane have been approved by the FDA for treatment of fair to extreme facial wrinkles. They have also shown to be very helpful in treating the nasolabial folds, which are the lines that extend from our noses to the sides of our mouth.

What are the differences between Restylane and Perlane?

The gel particles present in Perlane are bigger than those present in Restylane, which makes Perlane better for the treatment of deeper skin folds.

An injectable gel that reverses many signs of aging, Juvederm is used to remove fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also be used to plump the lips, sculpt cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face. It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance present in our bodies that works with collagen and elastin to provide volume and support to our skin.
